PRE CARE:

DAY OFPlease arrive to your appointment with a clean, makeup free face regardless of the area you’re having tattooed. This will aide in keeping the canvas free of bacteria.

ABSOLUTELY NO CAFFEINE THE DAY OF YOUR PROCEDURE – Caffeine acts as a blood thinner and will affect your tattoo during the process as well as during your healing stages.

ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL THE DAY OF YOUR PROCEDURE – Alcohol acts as a blood thinner and will affect your tattoo during the procedure. Excessive bleeding due to alcohol consumption will terminate appointment at artist’s discretion.

NO WAXING 2 DAYS PRIOR AND FOR 7 DAYS POST – Due to the possibility of skin irritation, waxing should be avoided, especially during the healing stages.

NO EXERCISE THE DAY OF YOUR PROCEDURE & FOR 3 DAYS POST – Exercise increases your blood flow and can affect the healing outcome. Please be advised that saunas, pools, and hot tubs should also be avoided during the healing process.

NO DIRECT SUN EXPOSURE THE DAY OF YOUR PROCEDURE – If you must be in the sun after your appointment, it is imperative that you wear a hat and stay in the shade whenever possible. Sunblock is not permitted due to your tattoo being an open wound that could catch bacteria.

NO NSAIDS OR BLOOD THINNERS FOR 3 DAYS PRIOR AND 3 DAYS POST – Blood thinners and NSAIDS will affect your tattoo during the process as well as during your healing stages. Examples: Heparin, Warfarin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Aspirin, Fish Oil, Vitamin E and many others. Check with your prescribing doctor if you’re unsure if your medication is a blood thinner or not.

*FOR LIPS ONLY – All people who have experienced cold sores MUST take Valtrex as a preventative for 3 days pre and 3 days post procedure. All other clients are expected to take a Lysine supplement for 3 days prior and 3 days post procedure to prevent cold sores during the healing stages.

POST CARE:

*Wash your hands before you start to ensure cleanliness*

BROWS – Wash brows twice a day with warm water and a gentle cleanser such as baby soap or dial gold. Apply small amount of soap to your fingertips, start at the head of your brow and stroke outwards towards the tail. Use light pressure and be sure not to rub or pick the shedding skin, as that will highly affect the healing outcome. Gently pat your brows dry with a clean, dry towel. Next use a rice grain size of Aquaphor ointment and apply from brow head to tail in a very thin layer. Repeat this daily for the first 7 days post procedure. On average, 4-5 days after the initial appointment, your new eyebrow skin will start to harden and itch. DO NOT SCRATCH OR PICK. Color will be darker and more intensified immediately after your procedure. After the scabbing is complete, the brows will appear very light. For the following 6 weeks, the color will begin to surface again. Completion appointments to be performed 8 weeks from initial appointment.

LIPS – Intensified color and swelling are part of the initial stages of healing. Be patient. Do not freak out! Immediately following the procedure, lips will feel dry, chapped, tight and tender to the touch. A protective layer of ointment will be applied before leaving the studio. Afterwards, apply Aquaphor as needed to keep lips constantly moist. Apply ointment on lips several times a day. Keep lips moist at all times. After every meal gently rinse and clean lips with water and pat dry, then re-apply ointment

*No kissing, rubbing or friction on treatment area

The true vibrancy of your cosmetic tattoo will fade about 30-40% from what you walked out with revealing a soft and natural blush tone.

The intensity should regress within 3-4 days. The sensation can be comparable to that of a slight burn and minimal scabbing and/or flaking may take place. Refrain from removing the scabs/flakes as you may run the risk of removing pigment in the process – it’s very important to keep the lips heavily hydrated. Things to remember while your lip blushing is healing:

  1. Avoid hot, spicy, and salty foods as it may cause added irritation
  2. Avoid teeth whitening and smoking
  3. Do not pick or scratch the lips as it may lead to a loss of pigment and/or scarring
  4. Placing cosmetic products on unhealed lips is heavily discouraged
  5. Texture is normal and is often experienced in the first few days of healing
  6. Lip fillers must be done 1 month prior to scheduling this service. Failure to disclose this information may result in a negative outcome.

EYES – There’s no downtime with this procedure, but you can expect slight swelling and redness. An ice pack will be provided to you, feel free to use ice for swelling as needed thereafter. Initially, the color will be darker for a few days until it goes through the shedding process. Healing will take about 7-10 days. Keep area dry. After the shedding is complete, the pigment will appear very light. For the following 6 weeks, the color will begin to surface again. Completion appointments to be performed 8 weeks from initial appointment.

FRECKLES – Keep the treated area dry for the first 24 hours. After that, use warm water and a gentle cleanser such as baby soap or dial gold. Apply small amount of soap to your fingertips and very gently, wash your new freckles for a couple seconds. Refrain from touching and absolutely NO scratching. No makeup in the treated area for 10 days post until healing is completed.

Li-Ft REMOVAL – Keep area clean and open to the air. Do not cover with a bandage as oxygen provides faster healing. Clean by blotting the area with saline 3 to 4 times a day using a paper towel or gauze. You can shower as normal but keep the area out of direct line of water and afterwards gently pat dry. NO picking as all scabbing needs to fall off naturally. If you force or pick a scab off you will disrupt the process and possibly cause scarring. It is critical to keep the scabs on as long as possible to achieve optimum results. ONCE ALL SCABBING HAS NATURALLY FALLEN OFF, apply one drop Vitamin E Oil 3 to 4 times throughout the day for a minimum of 4 weeks, or until next lightening session. DO NOT start applying the Vitamin E oil until all scabbing has naturally and completely fallen off. The skin will lightly scab and once healing is complete in 4 to 8 weeks, the original color will be much lighter.
